Proudly serving clients in the Glastonbury, CT community and beyond.
Noted as one of the safest cities in Connecticut, Glastonbury is known for its excellent municipal management. It has also been recognized as a Silver-Level Clean Energy Community by Energize CT at the 2015 Awards ceremony, for its implementation of energy-reducing and energy saving initiatives, among many other achievements.
Glastonbury is rich with culture and diversity as well as history. Glastonbury is home to many thriving businesses and popular attractions. Located only 7 miles southeast of Hartford, Connecticut, it is a central location, offering access to all of the major cities in the Northeast portion of Connecticut while it still manages to maintain the luxuries associated with a growing suburban community.
Glastonbury is one of the oldest municipalities known to Connecticut and is filled with interesting history, dating back to 1636 when thirty families were settled in Pyaug, which was a portion of land that rested along the eastern banks of the Connecticut River. The land was bought by a man named Wethersfield from the Native American Chief Sowheag for just 12 yards of trading cloth. In 1672, the property line expanded. By the year 1690, the residents of Pyaug were granted permission from Weathersfield to become a separate town, thus the birth of Glastonbury (then Glassenbury) in 1693.
There are many abundantly beautiful parks, historic sites and recreational spaces located in Glastonbury. Visitors and residents enjoy the beautiful and scenic locations around the area, many of which are used for community events and annual festivals.
Glastonbury also offers many retail and shopping locations, at places like The Shops at Somerset Square or Fox Run Mall. Here in Glastonbury you can also find fantastic restaurants, cafes and bars, such as Ken’s Corner Breakfast & Lunch, Max Fish, Bricco Trattoria or Hot Table Panini.
There is not shortage of things to do in this community, thanks to places like the Riverfront Community Center, which offers community events, programs and activities for people of all ages. Additionally, the Cozy Corner Café is a popular place to stop for soups, sandwiches and salads while visiting with local friends.
The town of Glastonbury is continually growing and changing. Although it has been part of many of the great movements of American history, it continues to be a source of wonder with the inspiration of its residents and those who work hard to make the city what it is today.
We at J.F. Web Development pride ourselves in offering web design, web development, and internet marketing services to the wonderful Glastonbury community. We also offer teaching and tutoring for our clients so they can learn how to build their own websites!
